San Diego, CA (For Release) - Geek Roundtable (GRT) is excited to present its first Pre-Comic Con Industry Networking Night at SPARK Studio Soundstage in San Diego on Tuesday, July 23. The event will be hosted by GRT host David Kamatoy in conjunction with SPARK Studio Soundstage and XOSOHO. The evening will feature a taping of Geek Roundtable with co-host actor and producer Mark Christopher Lawrence. Industry Networking Night kicks off a week of Comic Con coverage by GRT that includes a residency at the Cielo Rooftop Lounge from Wednesday, July 24, through Saturday, July 27.

Conceived first as an audio podcast and blog by members of the San Diego Comic Con leadership, Geek Roundtable covers all facets of pop culture, from comic books to film and beyond. After several years' pause, GRT looks to take advantage of the popularity of pop culture conventions for its relaunch. The show will stream afternoons and evenings from Cielo between 3:00-11:00 PM with both live and taped segments. In addition to the live stream on Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms, GRT segments will be cut into shows that will run on various platforms.

The goal of the event is to provide San Diego area filmmakers, content creators, artists and creatives with the opportunity to network and share ideas. There will be tours of the SPARK Sound Stage and related Encore Event Center spaces and discussions of how these spaces could fit into a project’s needs for locations on a manageable budget. Portions of the evening will be taped for broadcast during the GRT coverage of Comic Con, and attendees may have the opportunity to guest on the in-studio taping of Geek Roundtable.
