April FilmNet Meeting at Spark Studio Soundstage to Feature Industry Panel
San Diego, CA (For Release) - Spark Studio Soundstage will host the April FilmNet San Diego meeting on Tuesday, April 14. The evening will feature a panel of film industry experts, including members of entertainment unions SAG-AFTRA, IATSI, and AFM, discussing the future of film production in San Diego County. A red carpet and a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility will lead off the event, followed by introductions, success stories shared by members, and guest speakers.The red carpet begins at 5:00 p.m., with the tour at 5:30 and main event at 6:00 p.m. Spark Studio Soundstage is located at 8283 Ronson Rd.
The outlook for San Diego as a destination and hub for film production has been growing brighter over the past years with the development of the Chula Vista Entertainment Company (CVEC) complex and the creation of the San Diego County Film Initiative (SDCFI). Panel moderator Mike Logan, founder of Kraft Works Productions, will share the stage with a host of illustrious members of the local film industry. Among the panel speakers will be San Diego SAG-AFTRA President Larry Poole, IATSI Local 122 President Greg Sowizdrzal, American Federation Musicians Local 325 President Lori Kirkell, and CVEC Chairman and CEO Aaron Roberts. The panel will discuss the current efforts to have the San Diego County Board of Supervisors fund a dedicated Film Commission, as well as grassroots efforts to bring production back to the area.
